Shane Young has missed the featherweight limit by 3.5 pounds, coming in at 149.5 pounds.
Young is set to face off against Gabriel Miranda on the early prelims of UFC 293 in Sydney.
It was announced that the fight will still take place, with Young forfeiting 30% of his fight purse to Miranda as a penalty.
Young is currently on a three fight skid, his last fight being a decision loss to Blake Builder in Perth in February.
