The first ever trans-Tasman battle inside the octagon is set to take place at UFC Sydney.
Alex Volkanovski will take on Kiwi Shane Young in a catch weight bout 150lbs (68kg).
Volkanovski was set to fight Humberto Bandenay at featherweight until the Peruvian fighter withdrew from the contest only a few days ago. UFC matchmakers have been rushing to find a replacement for Volkanovski so he could remain on the card.

Shane ‘Sugar’ Young will be stepping in on seven days’ notice to make his UFC debut. Young, who fights out of City Kickboxing in Auckland is 11-3 in his professional career and the former XFC featherweight champion.
