New Zealand fighter Shane Young will look to defend his XFC featherweight title when he comes up against prospect Bevan O’Malley on XFC 30 which is scheduled to occur at the Logan Metro Centre on May 20.
Training out of the City Kickboxing gym in Auckland, Young captured the featherweight title back at XFC 22 before he stepped up to the lightweight division where he lost a decision to current UFC fighter Damien Brown. Young dropped back to featherweight where he knocked out Julian Rabaud to successfully defend his title.
His opponent Bevan O’Malley will give up experience as he comes into the bout undefeated after only four fights, all within XFC. He competed last month at XFC 29, where he submitted Taneira Terry.
Also announced for the card will be a welterweight fight between champion Matt Vaile and Brogan Anderson. The bout was originally scheduled to occur on XFC 29 back in February however a knee infection in the week leading up to the fight forced Anderson Vaile out of the bout.
