Making your pro debut has its pressures. Making it on a Matchroom Boxing Promotion card has added pressure but Tokyo Olympian, Skye Nicolson, rose to the occasion earlier today with a convincing victory against Jessica Juarez.
The 26-year-old dominated the six-round encounter, utilising an aggressive and fast pace, in particular stopping her opponent from coming in with a stiff left hand.
When the final bell went, the decision was clear. Nicolson walked away with a 60-54, 59-55, and 60-54 scorecard victory.
A good outing for the former talented amateur, who won a Commonwealth Games Gold Medal in front of family and friends back in 2018 but was outpointed in the quarter-finals by British boxer Karriss Artingstall at the last summer Olympics.
