Western Australian fighter Steven “The Steamrolla” Kennedy (pictured right) continued his solid form last night, when he defeated Dominic McConnell in a welterweight clash.
The MMA bout took place on the Domination Muay-Thai event held at the Claremont Showgrounds in Western Australia.
Kennedy was able to submit the Australian based, Northern Irish fighter with a second round triangle submission. The win was Kennedy’s second in the last few weeks after he defeated Daniel Way via unanimous decision at AFC 9 on May 17.
Kennedy is expected to appear in a MMA bout at Fight Night Perth on August 2 against a yet to be determined opponent. He will then have a quick turnaround as he is announced to be taking on four-time Judo Olympian Daniel Kelly in a AFC middleweight title fight on August 16 in Melbourne, Victoria.
Domination Muay-Thai was headlined by a Muay-Thai rules fight between Thaiboxing Pit fighter Gary Cairns who scored a third round KO victory over Mikal Joubert.
