Following his 34-second demolition of Gul “The Hebrew Hammer” Pohatu in December, Tai “Bam Bam” Tuivasa will make his return against up-and-coming Kiwi heavyweight Bish Poi Poi at Urban Fight Night 6 in March.
“Bam Bam”, 22, currently fighting out of Lions High Performance Centre in Penrith, NSW, made an impressive return to the sport at Urban Fight Night 5, stopping veteran knockout artist Pohatu with a barrage of punches (video). Twenty one year-old Poi Poi, hailing from Palmerston North on New Zealand’s North Island, will go into the contest with just one loss in his seven-fight pro career, and the NZ IKBF and ISKA heavyweight titles to his name.
The Trans-Tasman heavyweight collision will serve as the main event of the show, which takes place on March 12 at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool, NSW. The co-main event will see Australian Top Team featherweight James Najim return to the promotion following his quick submission of Craig Lankester in December. Najim will square off with VT-1’s Jordan Wehrman.
Keep an eye on the Urban Fight Night 6 event page for updates to the lineup.
