Lyoto Machida has admitted to taking a banned substance before his scheduled fight with Dan Henderson this weekend.
The UFC have released an official statement stating that Machida has admitted to USADA that he used a banned substance but claimed he was unaware that it was prohibited at the time.
Machida has subsequently been removed from the UFC Tampa card, along with his opponent Dan Henderson, which is taking place this weekend.
Needless to say Hendo wasn’t too happy.

Floyd Mayweather has suggested an MMA promotion may be in his future.
Money already boasts an impressive stable of 13 boxers, including WBC super-middleweight champion Badou Jack, and now wants to try his hand at MMA.
Here’s what the former champ had to say on the matter to FightHype.com:
“It’s time for me to move over to MMA — I mean as far as … It’s time for me to start promoting fights for the MMA. I’m ready to get involved with that business now. And of course, you already know what the MGM Grand stands for, “Mayweather Gets Money”. I’m still doing that, every month, the check comes in.”
Mark Hunt wants a rematch with Junior Dos Santos.
Dos Santos is coming off a big win over Ben Rothwell, and is back in the mix as title contender, which is no doubt the reason why Hunt has called him out on twitter.
“The Super Samoan” was beaten by Dos Santos on short notice in 2013 and wants his shot at redemption however the former champ has yet to respond to the call out.
Hunt is riding a two-fight win streak and has been in great form of late. Something tells me Hunt will be a much harder fight this time around with a full camp and plenty of confidence.
The ‘Stockton slap’ has been added to Nate Diaz’s repertoire in UFC 2.

“Looking for a fight” has been a great sense of entertainment since its inception but it’s now the subject of controversy.
In the last episode UFC President Dana White and his cohort of Matt Serra and Nick the Tooth attended a Legacy FC bout to check out heavyweight Cody East.
East impressed White so much that a deal was done and the knock out artist was signed to the UFC with an immediate fight booked at UFC 197 against Walt Harris.
It’s now been revealed that the new signing has a sordid past including a rape charge, battery and child abuse conviction.
Bloody Elbow goes into the full details here. There has been no response from the UFC as yet.
More cuts have been made to the UFC roster.
Joe Riggs, KJ Noons and Justin Salas are the latest to get the old heave-ho from the UFC.
