Victorian based promotion Hex Fight Series returns for its twelfth installment this Friday night at the Melbourne Pavilion. The stacked ten fight card will culminate with three title fights put on the line, and will feature some of the Oceania region’s top talent. The event will once again be telecast live on Fox Sports Australia channel 505.
In the main event, local rising star and current Hex FS light heavyweight champion Jim Crute will be defending his title for the first time when he comes up against experienced New Zealander Steven Warby.
Crute, fighting out of Team Greco/Stewie’s House of BJJ, currently boasts an impressive undefeated record of 5-0. His opponent Warby (9-2) who fights out Auckland’s renowned City Kickboxing gym, is no stranger to facing tough competition having fought the likes of Jim York and Tyson Pedro. The Kiwi is also coming off a KO victory in the Chinese promotion WKG.
The co-main event will feature an interstate lightweight championship battle between Melbourne’s own and Renegade MMA representative Callan Potter and WA’s Jack Becker who fights out of the Mach-1 Gym.
Multiple national title holder Potter (15-6) will be defending his Hex belt for the first time, and looks to continue to add to a formidable win streak which currently stands at seven. Becker also holds an impressive unbeaten run of his own with his undefeated pro record sitting at 6-0.
Also on the main card, New Zealand striker Israel Adesanya looks to capture his second Australian middleweight MMA title this year as he challenges tough Tasmanian Stu Dare for the vacant middleweight title in what has shaped up to be an intriguing grudge match.
Additionally, undefeated local fighter Lance Ettia is matched up against one of Australia’s most experienced lightweight fighters in Greg Atzori.
