Aussie flyweight Tim Moore went down to streaking Japanese fighter Yusaku Nakamura on Saturday night in the Philippines. The bout was part of the promotion’s four-man flyweight tournament.
In what was also his international debut at WSOF Global 3, Moore put in a gutsy performance with most of his success coming via his grappling game. Nakamura though, proved to be powerful in his striking, connecting with the cleaner shots and overall displaying superior strength and speed on the night. This in turn earned the 30 year-old Japanese fighter the unanimous decision win.
In the other flyweight tournament fight, American contender Lawrence Digiulio was able to edge out Brazilian Marcel Adur, with his aggressive boxing and submission attack earning him a split decision victory. With the win, DiGiulio now progresses to the final of the flyweight tourney at a later date and also gets to rematch fellow finalist Yusaka Nakamura.
WSOF Global 3 took place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in the Philippines. A full replay of the event is available here.
