Dylan Andrews made a sensational start to his UFC career today with a first round TKO victory of The Ultimate Fighter 17 cast mate Jimmy Quinlan at the season’s finale in Las Vegas, USA.
“The Villain” snatched the win in the very first round after dropping the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt with looping right hand followed by a pair of uppercuts, then finishing his turtled up opponent with a barrage of punches. The referee called a stop to the punishment at 3:22 handing an ecstatic Andrews the win.
“Choice, mean as. This is unbelievable. Anyone who knows me knows how hard I’ve worked for this, this is a dream come true”. The Gold Coast based Kiwi stated in his post fight interview.
“It was just staying on my feet, avoiding the takedown and I knew if I hit him I could potentially finish him”.
Andrews made it to the semifinals on the show where he was stopped by eventual finalist Uriah Hall while Quinlan lost to Josh Samman after defeating Clint Hester.
