News has emerged that The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Australia vs Canada will now feature both middleweight and welterweight fighters. The original press release from the UFC originally announced that the series would feature the welterweight division.
Canadian MMA show “UFC Central” confirmed the addition of middleweight fighters with a tweet.
“@UFCCentral: Breaking: TUF Nations Canada vs Australia will feature both welterweights and middleweights”
Various sources later confirmed the change.
The coaches for the series will be Australian Kyle Noke and Canadian Patrick Cote, both of whom recently made the drop from middleweight to welterweight. Although it has not officially been announced, the two fighters are seto meet at the seasons ending which is expected to be early in 2014.
Try outs to gain a position in the season will be held in both Sydney, Australia and Toronto, Canada in September. Further details is expected to be released on July 1. The event is set to be broadcast in Australia on the FX channel.
