Title fights in the lightweight and featherweight divisions headline Hex Fight Series 8 this Friday night. The twelve fight lineup, which will be telecast live for the first time on Fox Sports, will take place at an already sold out Melbourne Pavilion.
In the main event, popular hometown fighter Callan Potter will battle it out against champion Abel Brites for the Hex FS lightweight strap.
Brites (10-4), fighting out of SPMA in Sydney, most recently bounced back with a victory over Guojun Han at Rebel FC 4 in China midway through last year.
Renegade MMA’s Callan Potter (13-6) is on an impressive five-fight win streak and in his last outing won the Eternal MMA lightweight title over Isaac Tisdell via a round one submission victory at Eternal MMA 20 (fight video).
In the co-headliner, Australian Top Team’s Joshua Culibao will be looking to defend his featherweight title against undefeated Victorian Jordan Cameron of Adrenaline MMA.
Culibao (4-0) is also undefeated and will be defending the title he won at Hex FS 7 over Raphael Berthet for the first time. Culibao vs. Cameron is an evenly paired match-up on paper, but Cameron (5-0-1) will surely have the hometown crowd support in his favour.
Also on the night, Victorian Judo specialist Kitt Campbell is matched up against WA based Brit Aldin Bates in a highly anticipated interstate contest. Another anticipated bout on the card will feature two rising middleweights with Victorian Jim Crute taking on Sydney’s Nathan Reddy. Additionally, Melbourne based Brazilian Rodolfo Marques is put up against New Zealand KO artist and TUF veteran Kai Kara France.
