Rising Muay Thai star Tyson Harrison has announced his next ONE Championship fight.
After making a huge impression with the promotion so far in 2023, “John Wayne Noi” will face another high-level Thai in Tapaokaew Singha Mawynn at ONE Friday Fight 27 at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on August 4.
The 22-year-old Harrison has faced a who’s who of the Thai stadium circuit since joining the Asian giant earlier this year, with a crushing knockout win of decorated champion Rambo Mor Rattanabandit sandwiched in between close decision losses to a pair of four-time Muay Thai World Champions Seksan Or Kwanmuang and Pongsiri PK Saenchai.
Now, the Thailand-based Queenslander will make his fourth appearance in little more than six months against a veteran of 72 fights.
Tapaokaew fights out of the talent-rich Singha Mawynn gym alongside such names as former ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon and made his ONE debut at ONE Friday Fights 12 in April.
The 21-year-old came up short against French veteran Rafi Bohic via split decision first up and will be keen to make a name for himself against the Aussie from Tor Sangtiennoi gym who has risen to prominence with his all-action displays.
Harrison, for his part, will no doubt be keen to put on a show once again, but a victory over Tapaokaew would greatly enhance his stock as he bids for a shot at ONE’s monthly Fight Night events in the U.S. primetime.
The rest of the ONE Friday Fights 27 fight card is still to be announced.
