Rising Muay Thai star Tyson Harrison has announced his next fight.
“John Wayne Noi” is set to take on another Thai legend in Pongsiri PK Saenchai at ONE Friday Fights 11 on March 31.
The event will be the eleventh of ONE Championship’s weekly series at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Harrison took to Instagram on March 14 to make the announcement:
“Only way is UP.
31st of this month I will be facing Pongsiri! another absolute legend in the sport. Except nothing less from me, I will give everything. The count down is on, let’s GO,” he said.
Harrison is fresh from his promotional debut against Thai superstar Seksan Or Kwanmuang at ONE Friday Fights 1 in January.
The 22-year-old was on the wrong end of a split decision, but the fight was an all out war and an early nomination for 2023 fight of the year.
Harrison will face another huge test when he takes on Pongsiri, who has four Muay Thai World Titles and two Lumpinee Stadium Titles to his name, among his 157-37-11 professional record.
The 32-year-old has gone 2-3 in his ONE tenure so far, albeit against elite competition such as then-featherweight Muay Thai king Petchmorakot Petchyindee and former bantamweight kickboxing champ Alaverdi Ramazanov.
Ponsiri was last seen taking a unanimous decision victory over Turkish fighter Ferzan Cicek at ONE Friday Fights 2 in January.
The full ONE Friday Fights 11 card is still to be announced.
