Bantamweight Muay Thai star Tyson Harrison is locked in for his fifth fight of 2023.
“John Wayne Noi” will face off with two-time former Lumpinee Boxing Stadium champion Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai at the stacked ONE Friday Fights 34 card on September 22.
Harrison has alternated wins and losses in his ONE Championship tenure so far, but the latest was his best performance yet.
The Queenslander crushed Tapaokaew Singha Mawynn at ONE Friday Fights 27 last month, taking his record to 2-2 under the ONE banner and 24-10 overall.
The 22-year-old lives and trains at Tor Sangtiennoi Muay Thai in Bangkok, having represented Corporate Box Valley Gym back home before moving to the sports’ heartland to pursue his dream of a ONE world title.
A win over Kulabdam would greatly enhance his chances of scoring one of the US$100,000 ONE contracts that are on offer via the Friday Fights platform.
The 24-year-old Thai has been a staple of the ONE bantamweight division since 2019, with a 4-4 promotional record of his own.
The 90-fight veteran’s most recent appearance was a no-contest with French star Rafi Bohic at ONE Friday Fights 26 in July. The action was halted in the opening round as an accidental eye poke rendered Kulabdam unable to continue. Muay Thai fights under ONE’s ruleset are contested in four-ounce MMA gloves.
Prior to the anticlimactic contest, Kulabdam was riding the momentum of a unanimous decision win over Ilyas Musaev in June.
ONE Friday Fights 34 is headlined by the highly anticipated champion vs champion showdown between ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon and flyweight kickboxing divisional king Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Rodtang’s belt will be on the line, as the pair face off for the right to be recognised as the best flyweight striker on the planet atop what has been dubbed the biggest Muay Thai event in history.
