Tyson Pedro will make his return to the octagon on Saturday, March 4 when he takes on Scotsman Paul Craig at UFC 209 in Las Vegas.
Twenty five year-old Pedro (5-0) is coming off a stellar UFC debut where he finished Khalil Rountree in the first round via submission at UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne. Despite being rocked early the Aussie was able to compose himself, landing a takedown which lead to the rear-naked choke victory. The performance also resulted in a $50k performance bonus.
The undefeated Sydney based light heavyweight will now test his skills against Paul Craig (9-0) from Airdrie in Scotland when they face off in the fighting capital of the world. Like Pedro, Craig also made a successful UFC debut in 2016 when he submitted Brazilian Luis Henrique da Silva at UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs. Waterson. A former BAMMA champion, the 29 year-old has finished all his opponents inside the distance.
The Daily Telegraph was first to report the matchup.
UFC 209 will also see local heavyweight Mark Hunt square off with Alistair Overeem.
