A UFC pay-per-view blockbuster returns to Melbourne this October with a middleweight title fight between champion, Australian based Robert Whittaker and interim champion, New Zealand based Israel Adesanya, headlining UFC 243.
The event will take place October 6 at Marvel Stadium (formerly named Etihad Stadium). The promotion has previously broken the UFC record at the same stadium with 56,214 attending UFC 193 back in 2015, where Ronda Rousey was spectacularly knocked out by Holly Holm in the headlining fight.
Tickets for UFC 243 are scheduled to go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 16 however UFC Fight Club members can grab tickets early from 12-midday on Tuesday, 13 August with subscribers of Newscorp Newspapers obtaining priority access on Wednesday. As well as feature middleweight title fight, fights have been reported for locals Nadia Kassem, Tai Tuivasa, Dan Hooker, Megan Anderson and officially confirmed for Luke Jumeau and Justin Tafa who makes his UFC debut.
