The highly anticipated return of Conor McGregor is just over a month away as “The Notorious” rematches Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.
The pair first met back in 2014, when McGregor was climbing the ranks of the featherweight division and made a statement, dismantling Dustin Poirier inside the first-round. He later went on to claim the 145lb and 155lb title belts before being knocked off the perch by Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Since that loss, Poirier has managed to redeem himself, winning 10 out of his last 12 bouts which also includes a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov. In his last bout, he won a grueling decision in a Fight of the Year contender against Kiwi Dan Hooker and has been calling out McGregor ever since.
Both signed on the bottom line to face each other at “Fight Island” on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi on Sunday the 24th of January.
