The grudge match between former training partners Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal is near with the two headlining UFC 272 this weekend.
Covington comes into the bout on the back of an unsuccessful title challenge against Kamaru Usman while Masvidal has lost back-to-back fights, both also to Usman, which makes this welterweight clash ever so important for either fighter.
The charismatic Covington brings a 16-3 (UFC 10-3) record while Masvidal, a longtime veteran of the sport comes into the bout with a 35-15 (UFC 10-8) record.
Covington comes into it as the heavy favourite, paying 1.29 according to Unibet.com.au; while Masvidal will pay out 3.65 for the head-to-head victory.
The event, unfortunately, lost the co-main event fight between Rafael dos Anjos and Rafael Fiziev after Fiziev tested positive for COVID-19. Brazilian dos Anjos will now face fellow country-man Renato Moicano.
