UFC Fight Night 85 in Brisbane has hit a bump in the road in the lead up to the March 20 fight card with Justin Scoggins and Abel Trujillo unable to compete.
Scoggins, who was set to face Australian based Ben Nguyen in a much anticipated bout between two top prospects in the flyweight division has withdrawn due to injury. The fight has now been cancelled.
Trujillo has been replaced in his lightweight bout by Chad Laprise after he faced visa issues. Laprise will step in to fight Ross Pearson which now leaves Alan Patrick without an opponent. The UFC is currently working on finding a replacement.
Australia has plenty of talent in the lightweight division and this would stand as an amazing opportunity for a local fighter to get a guernsey in the world’s top MMA promotion.
UFC Fight Night 85 takes place on March 20th at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and will be headlined by Mark Hunt and Frank Mir.
The fights will be broadcast live on FOX Sports.
