Following the record breaking UFC 193 in Melbourne on Sunday, the promotion wasted no time announcing their next Australian based offering. UFC president Dana White revealed that Brisbane will play host to UFC Fight Night 84 on March 20 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
No fights have been announced for the card.
UFC Fight Night 84 will be the second UFC event to take place in the city after UFC Fight Night 33 back in December 2013. That night was the scene of one of the greatest heavyweight bouts of all time when Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva met for the first time, a fight that ended in an epic draw.
Hunt and Silva rematched on Sunday in Melbourne with Hunt leaving no questions around the result, knocking out Silva in the opening round.
UFC Fight Night Brisbane will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1 in the United States, Fox Sports Australia in Australia and SKY TV in New Zealand.
