SBS announced today that former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will be headlining UFC Melbourne against third ranked Ronaldo Souza.
Rockhold is coming off a first round knock out at UFC 199 where he lost his belt to Michael Bisping. The Californian will be keen to avenge his loss and get back in the winners column come November 27 at Rod Laver Arena.
Souza handed out his own first round knock out to Vitor Belfort just four months ago and has only dropped one loss, a controversial split decision to Yoel Romero, in five years.
Rockhold and Souza last met in Strikeforce where they fought for the middleweight title back in 2011. Rockhold won that outing by unanimous decision.
A win for either of these guys will go a long way to helping secure a shot at the title currently held by Bisping who is booked to fight Dan Henderson in Manchester next month.
No other fight announcements have been made to date.
