The UFC will make a long awaited return to Auckland, New Zealand with the promotion confirming it to take place Sunday, June 11 at the Vector Arena.
The promotion has only visited New Zealand once previously, that being back in June 2014 where James Te Huna headlined the card in a match-up against Nate Marquardt.
“The first event was a great night for us,” Joe Carr, UFC’s vice-president and head of international and content, told the NZ Herald. “It sold out – attendance over 8,000, a full house – the response was massive there from the fans.
With Mark Hunt suffering a knock-out loss earlier today and Robert Whittaker recently booked in to face Ronaldo “Jacare” Sousa in April, there are no front-runner names that may headline the card.
Fans wanting to attend can register for pre-sale tickets at UFC.co.nz/auckland.
