Undefeated New Zealand featherweight Faith Van Duin has signed with leading women’s MMA promotion Invicta Fighting Championship.
Van Duin (4-0), who signed with management company MMA University earlier this month, is currently ranked the number four featherweight fighter in the world by the Unified Women’s Mixed Martial Ats Rankings. Late last year she was nominated for Featherweight Fighter of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the 2013 Women’s MMA Press Awards after winning the Storm Damage one-night tournament in September, which saw her defeat Michelle Peruzzi, Arlene Blencowe and Kate Da Silva.
Van Duin spoke with The MMA Corner about the upcoming opportunity.
“I feel humbled and excited and thankful for the opportunity. I am really excited for what is to come, and I am ready to show the world what New Zealand women can do. I am really looking forward to testing myself against the best fighters in the world.”
It’s unclear at this stage when she will make her Invicta FC debut or who she will face first up.
