Sydney promotion Urban Fight Night returned for their second event in as many days, with Urban Fight Night 29 taking place at The Orion on Saturday night.
In the main event, Josh Togo returned and first-round knock-out victory over Robby Lara to claim the UFN lightweight title. Togo utilised his reach and leg kicks to keep Lara at bay before a quick one-two found its mark, dropping Lara to the canvas. Togo immediately pounced with heavy ground-and-pound to knock out his opponent and force the stoppage.
“All respect to Robby [Lara]. This guy is a featherweight and he has come up to lightweight. I was supposed to fight someone else and they pulled out, and he wanted to take the fight with me. That’s one tough person to do that so my respect goes out to Robby and his team,” Togo commented post-fight in the cage.
“My game plan is to sit long, play patient, and do what I always do. Pick and move, pick and move, stick. My game plan starting to unravel to a lot of people and they starting to see it but at the same time, they don’t know until they are in front of me,” he added.
