Both 32-year-old Leo Santa Cruz and 25-year-old Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis were making the PPV debut as headliners yesterday (AEDT) and it would the younger boxer who would leave the ring as the boxing superstar, with a devastating knock-out.
Cruz had not been stopped in his previous 39 professional bouts and that came crashing in the sixth-round of their WBA lightweight and WBA super featherweight title bout.
Davis had Cruz against the ropes and Cruz was looking to punch his way out of danger but Davis read the straight perfectly, countering with a lead left hook that found it’s mark with precision and power.

With the win, Davis moves his professional record to 24-0, winning 23 of those via KO. Cruz, drops to 37-2-1.
