Australian based heavyweight Soa Palelei is reportedly set to welcome back Walt Harris to the octagon following Daniel Omielanczuk’s withdrawal from the event due to a broken thumb over the weekend.
Combat Press reported the news citing sources close to the bout, which will take place at the Allphones Arena in Sydney on November 8 with the event being headlined by Luke Rockhold taking on Michael Bisping.
Thirty one year-old Harris (MMA 7-3, UFC 0-2) will be hoping to redeem himself after being released from the leading MMA promotion earlier this year after back-to-back losses to Jared Rosholt and Ukrainian fighter Nikita Krylov. The American Top Team trained fighter returned to action in May where he knocked out D.J Linderman in the opening round of their bout on Titan Fighting Championships 28.
Palelei (MMA 21-4, UFC 3-2) is also eager to put himself back up there in the heavyweight division after suffering a disappointing unanimous decision loss to Jared Rosholt back in June on the UFC New Zealand card. The loss broke an 11 fight win-streak for the Perth based fighter which included three straight wins in the UFC.
