New Zealand born Mark Hunt’s fight against Brock Lesnar has been made official as both fighters made weight ahead of their co-main event clash at UFC 200.
Hunt, who has based himself in Las Vegas for the last month in preparation for the bout, weighed in at 264.5 pounds (119.9 kgs) for the heavyweight contest. His opponent Brock Lesnar who is returning to the Octagon for the first time in just under five years weighed in slightly heavier at 265.5 pounds (120.4 kgs).
The ‘Super Samoan’ didn’t mince his words in a short interview, telling the crowd in attendance that he is going to “Punch his (Lesnar’s) face in.”
Lesnar spoke about his excitement at finally returning back to the cage, “I’m excited. I’m excited it’s here. I’ve had a good training camp. Words can’t describe how I feel. It’s surreal. It’s cool!”
Former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks was the only fighter who failed to make weight and has been penalised 20 percent of his purse.
